IN-YOUR-FACE ROCK THAT'S KEEPING IT REAL

By JONATHAN GROVE

Hailing from the great State of Texas, Black Bone Child have been around the music scene for sometime (roughly 10 years), so they know how to get their point across. After emailing each other with ideas, more and more interest grew with one another. And soon enough, these two artists became friends, bringing their passion for music to an even higher level.

But the biggest part of this entire band's sound comes from their live performances, in which all their effort is put forth. With their bone rattling bass lines, straight to the point guitars, and harmonica enriched solo's, this two piece wrecking crew are here to kick some butt and take names later.

Donny James and Kenneth M. come into their own, bringing back that southern rock/blues spirit, a throw back to bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Grateful Dead and Blackfoot. They resemble the bands that go out there and give you what rock and roll sounds like. Its right in your face, its raw, and most importantly, its real.

Pretend Slash quit playing for Guns N' Roses and started jamming with Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes. It's that eye catching. Songs like "Ha Ha Hey Hey" and "Make Me Bleed" have the spark to bring out those head shaking concert goers, long lost and forgotten, and the air guitarist at your next party or karaoke night.

With their own terms, Black Bone Child have self produced their album at the White Door Studios in Austin, Texas under White Door Management. With their “On our own terms” attitude, whether it be producing, writing and even designing their album cover, its completely uninfluenced by a higher source giving them an honest picture to portray.

If you're a fan of rock music, blues music or just a person looking to expand genres, I suggest you check out their website and MySpace page to really grasp their full approach to song writing.

They may not be on the next billboard chart top 100, but they're not looking to be, they just want to be themselves.
