WRITERS/PHOTOGRAPHERS
Want to be a part of Canada's newest music magazine? You can!
Soundline is always looking for new writers and photographers to join our team!
Assignments and submissions are on a voluntary basis at this time, but you will always receive 100% credit for what you do.
If you are interested in writing feature articles, reviews, columns, or submitting photos from local gigs and events, please contact us at the e-mail below.
Please provice your name, age, address (for mailing out hard copies of cd's for review) and a copy of something you have done. (It could be something you write off the top of your head strictly for the purpose of applying for this position, or some random photos of your dog, Spot. We don't care what it is, we just want to see your style.)

Our writers will be responsible for interviewing bands and creating original, interesting and informative articles. They will take assignments for features and column-like articles (personal interest), as well as submit their own according the bands they contact and/or see.
Reviewers will listen to cd's and write honest articles based on the band/artist's talent as well as attend and critique live shows. They will accept assignments as well as review other independent artists/bands you might come across and submit for publication. Must be non-biased and be able to HONESTLY criticize multiple genres of music. (We will always try to cater to your personal preferences, but at times, there may be an overload of content in a genre that you aren't fond of. We require our reviewers to keep an open mind and honestly critique based on TALENT.)
Photographers will submit intriguing and artistic shots at concerts, studios, etc. Take an assignment or shoot their own ideas and submit for publication.
BANDS
Soundline is always accepting submissions from bands and artists around the world. You can send your CD's to the following address for a thorough review from someone on our review board.
Soundline c/o Krystina Grandmond
277 St. Paul St W
St. Catharines, ON L2S 2E6
Canada
Invitations to shows for live reviews can be sent via e-mail to bands@soundline.ca. Inquiries about interviews and articles can also be sent to that address. Please allow ample time for a response, as we receive many e-mails and need time to locate a writer in your area.
Soundline requires that 2 tickets (or 2 guestlist spots) be available for any writers, reviewers, or photographers you request to cover your gig. We don't pay our team, and don't expect them to have to pay out of their pockets to get their work done. The person's name will be forwarded to you ahead of time. We request +1 so they don't have to head out alone. (More exposure for you if they bring a friend anyway!)
If you are looking for a feature article, please make sure as many members of the band as possible are available for interview. The writers will come to you; please provide or suggest a comfortable, fairly quiet place with minimal interruptions for interview (the venue during another band's soundcheck = bad; restaurant, practise venue, etc. with normal everyday noise = okay; studio or some other place where the noise is controllable or completely avoidable = best).
Got a question or comment about our magazine or its writers? You can go to our message board and post in the Q&A or comment sections, or send your question to one of the following addresses:
