FROM THE EDITOR
Yes, I know. It's been ages. But it's okay, now that you see what we've been up to, right?
Welcome to the new, improved, kick ass, Soundline.ca. What do you think of it? Personally, I thought it was loud, obnoxious and probably 20 shades too bright ... in other words ... perfect. The site needed a major facelift and I think this new layout really did the job. I'll probably keep it around for awhile.
Now that the new layout is out of the way, I've been focusing my time on other things (my art namely) and have been working hard (7 days a week) to try and make some money to put towards promoting the 'zine ... so far, so good. My car goes in for a paint job in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking the tint should go on a day before so that it has the 48 hours it needs to cure as well.
When it's done, my old, worn out, 1988 2-door LeBaron, which right now is a plum/burgundy colour, will be a sleek black promotion machine, all set with new tint, new paint, Soundline logo and new cd player and speakers.
And then it'll need a name.
So ... send me your suggestions. If I like one enough, I'll paint the name right on the car (and no "[blank]-mobile" type names ... be creative). Who knows ... we might even have a prize or two for the best suggestions.
As always, we need new writers for the 'zine. Actually, I shouldn't say "new" since I really want the people here now to stick around ... let's use the word "more" ... we can always use more writers. The more we have, the more venues we can get out to and the more bands we can help out.
Speaking of helping out a band, if you're in the Toronto area on Saturday, August 14th, be sure to drop into the Horseshoe Tavern ... Afflatus (a band that I am personally accquainted with) is having their CD release party ... so make sure you go, show them some support, and who knows ... maybe they'll be the next big thing ... at least in your world. :)
Soundline will be there and [hopefully] the new promotion vehicle will be there too.
Well, that's all from me for now. Gotta go finish a mural that's taking me forever to do ... oh well i guess ... it's money towards the 'zine.
Talk to you all again soon!
