Another night at the Reverb boasted four bands. Although the crowd didn't pick up until later on in the evening, every band gave a solid performance. Mutepoint hit the stage first with their straight-up rock vocals and guitars. They reminded me somewhat of a Niagara band called Vegalite ... these guys need to hook up.

Warming up the crowd, in this already heated venue, was Dirj Experiment. An interesting visual vocally is the use of two microphones for the ease of effect transition. Everyone was sitting down at this point just absorbing the balance of rock and ambient noise coming from the stage.

Up next was Toronto's own Faithdown. They put on a very tight show and seem to have a knack for connecting with the audience to get them pumped. A high energy show watching animated Bassist Paolo DeBartolo and the dynamic vocal styles of Mike Bruce, who oozes the rock star attitude on stage.

The evening's headliner, Feebo, graced the stage and assumed their triangular positions. Behind them hung their black banner with a red handprint. Amir Epstein on Bass and Lead Vocals, Aaron Ovakin on guitar and Rick Welbanks on drums. Both the guitarist and drummer contributed to the back up vocals. These talented musicians offer their own distinctive qualities to the music. Amir showed amazing vocal control coupled with intricate bass lines. The vocals went from screams to whispers and back again with seemingly little effort on his part. He gets into it so much that he forgets where the microphone is sometimes. Aaron hunches over his guitar while playing emotionally gripping riffs. Wearing a kilt behind the drums was Rick. Amusing to watch with his finesse moves of drumstick twirls and aggressive facial expressions. He fired off unpredictably progressive beats with precision.

Every song stopped on a dime and by the last song "Head Down," the intensity of the show was summed up with the shattering of a drumstick. Check them out at www.feebo.net, you won't be disappointed.
