SECOND WIND BANDITS - A GIFT OF LOVE
By ALEX RASMUSSEN
Staff Writer
From the moment Second Wind Bandits started to play their song “Lovers Never Rests On Sunday,” I knew I would be listening to their songs all night long.
In each track, a different taste floats in the air. They differ by their unique sound due to the number of instruments each member is able to play. It allows each song to be different from another. The lead singer, Bill Mulroney, is versatile, other than just singing, he plays guitar and writes the songs. Bill’s voice accents the instruments in ways that have you swinging to the beat.
Their new album, “A Gift of Love,” is a C.D that shouldn’t be missed with the powerful lyrics from Bill, catchy tunes, and singing that can’t help but be adored. While listening to this cd, you can not help but applaud those who produced this album. Their excellent ability to mix the correct volume, singing and instruments is easily heard.
With the different influences to this band’s music, it is easily to tell that many talented artists assisted, combining to create great music, as in “Baby Please Look My Way.”
Another noticeable plus that this band provides is deep lyrics that can’t help but captivate you while you listen. “I wounded you, you wounded me, our knives keep cutting deeper.” ("A Gift Of Love”)
After listening to this album, I’m startled that very few people have recommended them too me. Yet, if it were up to me, I would recommend this to anyone with speakers.
Based on what I’ve listened to in this album, it is easy to see that Second Wind Bandits are moments away from their big break.
