STREET PHARMACY Live at the Tattoo Rock Parlour

Street Pharmacy got the show going around 10 o’clock on a Wednesday night, and opened up with their single “Welcome to the Street Pharmacy.”
As they say of themselves, they are a reggae band with a rock influence. The mingling fans sway between songs, and the music is rhythmic and has a dance vibe.
It is interesting to see their lead singer, Ryan Guay, change from a quiet but well-spoken person into a full-out musician while on stage. The lyrics are somewhere between rap and reggae, and Guay really shines as they slide from rock riffs to reggae rhythms, particularly songs like “Sober State of Fame” and it was interesting to hear them cover a few minutes of the song “Bad Boys.”
Guay introduces the song “Crazy Gunner” by noting that this song was written about the man that mugged him. Apparently, this was also the pedestrian that Guay accidentally hit weeks later. Guay chalked it up to karma, but Guay definitely got the better end of the deal, since “Crazy Gunner” was easily the best song they played that night.
Street Pharmacy is definitely a band that is certainly worth seeing live. If you want to let loose, or have a good night out with an excellent band you can rock out with, go see Street Pharmacy play.
